Color Of The Month: Cranberry

An October wedding is in the heart of fall, which means the theme must be perfectly autumnal. The first colors that may come to mind are caramel, pumpkin, or apple, but when the leaves, decor, and food are already these shades, your wedding color must be something that accents fall’s palette. We chose cranberry for this color of the month because its bright red is a bit darker and contrasts perfectly with light yellow, orange, and red fall leaves. Just imagine a branch of cranberry tied around a pumpkin stem, and you’ll see what we mean.

Dresses & Bouquets

Cranberry dresses are beautiful long or short. Fun textures like pleats or ruffles make a short or strapless dress more seasonal. Have your bridesmaids wear gold jewelry instead of silver. We love pairing these dresses with vibrant bouquets in autumn colors like amber, orange, red, or maroon. Succulents can be included to break up the colors, as seen above. You can go many different ways with your bouquet for a cranberry wedding. For instance, cranberry pairs perfectly with pale pinks and fuschia if you’re going for a more flirty and feminine theme. If you want to keep things rustic and fall-themed, then stick with autumnal colors. You can even add a sprig of cranberries in your bouquet to tie everything together. Deep purple florals with purple velvet ribbon can drastically change your bouquet into something more romantic and royal.

Decor

Gold and cranberry were meant for each other. With cranberry bouquets in gold vases, simple dishes, and gold chairs, you have all the decorations you need for a classy wedding reception. Use cranberries in your decorations for easy DIY options. You can place cranberries in a cylinder vase with water and lay a candle on top. Another idea is to fill a tall vase with cranberries and place a stalk of hay in it for more festive and seasonal decor.

Food & Beverages

Because cranberry is such a rich color, you can simply have a white cake with a cranberry-colored flower for accent. You can’t have a fall wedding without serving pies. You can display a tower of miniature apple, cranberry, pumpkin, and pecan pies or serve them as is. We also love the idea of serving a naked cake topped with cranberries. For the champagne toast drop a few frozen cranberries in each glass.
